Opening the Discussion

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, morning sickness sucks. One of the worst parts about it is that it’s hard for people to relate. It’s even worse when they don’t believe you. Yes it may be easier to “just suck it up”, but you’re also struggling and deserve to be heard! Your voice matters, especially when it comes to you and your baby’s health.

I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, also known as HG or extreme morning sickness. This condition can cause severe nauseavomiting, weight loss, and electrolyte disturbance. I was constantly nauseous or vomiting. It was hard on my body and soul, I just wanted to have that normal and healthy pregnancy that everyone else I knew had.

I remember being in the hospital when I was pregnant with my first, John Hamilton, and the doctors told me I only had 24 hours to live. I was stuck in a situation that I couldn’t change and I just remember asking God why this was happening to me. I was exhausted, run down, and I just wanted to know what God’s plan was for me and my baby.

That’s what inspired me to create our Pink Stork products, especially our teas. When you’re constantly throwing up and nauseous it’s important to stay hydrated. Your body needs nutrients to provide you and your baby with a healthy environment.

My goal with this company was to help moms like me in need. I’m rooting for all of you expecting mothers out there and love to help get you through this pregnancy. Let’s open the discussion about pregnancy struggles. I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
