After meeting with an amazing mama, Stefani, in Atlanta we wanted to share more information on the struggles women across the US face while breastfeeding. Stefani has a little girl herself who she is currently nursing. During this time she found out her friend, who has a two-month-old, was having difficulty producing enough milk for her little one. That’s when Stefani turned to Pink Stork for some assistance to be able to produce enough milk for two.

“I’ve been taking the True Milk and the Lactation Tea, I really feel like it’s making a difference!” Stefani told us in a mini-interview outside of a Target in Atlanta.

It can be frustrating when you know your baby is hungry and you just can’t seem to get enough milk flowing to help them. Don’t panic, there are plenty of things you can do. According to womenshealth.gov, the first thing you should do is check the baby’s positioning and make sure they are latched on properly. Remember when it comes to breastfeeding, your baby is the boss, let them decide when they are done feeding. Even if they seem to be finished offer the other breast, just in case, this will encourage production in both breasts.

What happens though when a mama has tried all the tricks and is still not producing enough milk? Local milk banks are a huge resource! The Human Milk Banking Association of North America (hmbana.org) is a non-profit organization, that has 25 locations in the United States, and a few more across southern Canada. Since 2010, HMBANA has served over 264 cities Whether that be personal homes, hospitals, or their own clinics they are helping moms raise nourished babies. The milk bank receives its milk from donors, usually women who create an oversupply of breast milk. Oversupply is fairly common in mothers who pump and nurse often, this milk can then be frozen and saved for later or donated.

If you think you may be in need of a little bit of a breast milk boost, we’re here to help! Our True Milk encourages milk production for you and nourishment for baby. We also have our Lactation Tea, which is packed with galactagogues which helps a mama in need increase the flow and supply of her milk. So, whether you’re a mama looking to produce more for others or just trying to make enough milk for your own baby, make sure to check out or Pink Stork products!
